Health Walks take place throughout the year. The walks are a gentle stroll with time to chat and to enjoy the wildlife. The walks are accredited by Natural England and are led by trained Health Walk leaders. After the walk we have a cup of tea, a biscuit and a natter. The Health Walks are supported by one of our partners, the ZEST Healthy Living Project.

Bat/Moth Hunts take place during the summer months and are usually carried
out around dusk.

Moth hunts are carried out at the same time as the bat walks. Over the last two
years the bat hunts have proved very popular with young and old alike. Armed
with our special bat detectors we can hear the calls made by these interesting
mammals.

This year we will be doing walks along the valley floor by the river.

Did you know?? A Pipestrelle Bat, which weighs only the same as a two
pence piece needs to eat 3000 insects each night!

Please Note: Bat walks are weather dependent as the bats won’t come out if it’s
raining. Please ring to book and confirm that the walk is going ahead to avoid
disappointment. For further information please contact Jerry on 07974 043786.

Fishing competitions are regularly held on the top pond by The King William IV Angling Society.

Beavers in the Forest!!
Around 20 Beaver Scouts and parents from the 105th Scout Group went on a
walk through the Forest in the dark.  Whilst there they looked at the bird screen
and were presented with their Explorer badges next to the sculpture.

See right hand side for photographs of presentations.
